PTA FAQ

SEPTA Myths and Questions

“Only special education parents/guardians  need to join SEPTA?”

A strong SEPTA needs the support of moms, dads, family members, teachers, school staff, and community members. If you want to be involved we welcome you to be a part of our SEPTA community

“Does joining SEPTA mean I have to volunteer?”

We appreciate everyone’s membership, whether or not a member is able to volunteer.   There are also other ways you can contribute. For example, we are always looking for parents to make calls, reach out to businesses , contribute with specialized skills with graphic design,, marketing, etc.  or just  to help with one-off requests.

“What if I don’t have time to join SEPTA?”

If you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider becoming a member of SEPTA and /or give your financial support. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your support helps fund events and activities for the special education students throughout the school year.

“SEPTA has all the help they need”

SEPTA ALWAYS  wants and needs volunteers. If you choose to volunteer, you can decide your time commitment.

Why should I join the SEPTA?

Your fellow PTA members are family and community members who want to support the kids and the school. Membership puts you in direct contact with other parents and teachers. It shows your child that you are interested and invested in their educational experience.
